Karl Josef Wagner

Prior to the assault on Demmen, Demmenkreisen led by Dietrich Berger, he shifted his allegiance to Eleonore Drechsler and became a part of her drucht. He was, in fact, the first to do, becoming her most loyal follower.

During the assault, he followed her closely. When she defeated Dietrich, he stood at her back, helping her cow the others there and claim the title of kreisarch.

After she takes the title of kreisarch, she sends Karl Josef along with the weapons and armor of Raakel Zapadnyj, a pomestnik to the izba of Ivan Yevgenich, kniaz of Zapad Oblast, Matriarchate of Periaslavl. He is there to propose, what is in effect, a non-aggression pact, which Ivan accepts.

Following his return to Demmen, Karl Josef becomes Eleonore's primary lieutenant in her campaign against Emmerich Adler and Chlothar von Marekshof.

Karl Josef remains Eleonore's primary lieutenant upon their return to Demmen. Initially, he takes charge of training new recruits. However, when Eleonore decides to leave Demmen to investigate certain troubling issues, he insists on joining her, despite her protests.

He follows her as she and others ascend the Rueckenberge, where he falls defending Eleonore, who has been attacked by powerful magics.
